Delete your account

Media Shelves works without an account. If you created one to sync your library, you can delete it together with all its data at any time.

In the app

  1. Tap your profile picture on the Home screen.
  2. Open Settings and scroll to Account.
  3. Tap Delete Account and enter your password to confirm.

Your account and its data on our servers are deleted right away. This can't be undone.

Without the app

Email from the email address of your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We delete the account within 30 days and reply when it's done. We only act on requests sent from the account's own address.

What is deleted

  • Your account: email address and password.
  • Your synced library: titles, statuses, dates, ratings, notes, tags and playthroughs.
  • Personal collections and their covers, covers you uploaded, your profile photo.
  • Public links to your collections that you published while signed in.
  • The record of which version of the Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted.

What stays

  • The library on your devices. It is stored on the device and keeps working without an account. To remove it, delete the app or use Settings → Data on this device → Clear local database.
  • Links published without an account. They are not tied to you; unpublish them in the app, or email us the link.
  • Anonymous statistics and crash reports. They are not linked to your account and expire on their own: usage statistics after 2 months, crash reports after 90 days.
